Original brand identities lacked continuity and balance, also their image libraries and colour palettes didn’t gel when placed side by side. Refreshed identities included a revised colour balance, aligned palette and complimentary visual assets to better promote the connection between the two brands.

Looking across the Tasman to an established brand, Therapy Pro and Therapy Pro Kids were looking to align their identities to sit together more cohesively.

Starting with some logo tweaks and adding in vertical stack options, we moved on to refresh the colour palette with tones that were modern, vibrant and reflected the fun of the remedial and educational sectors.

Core colours for each identity provided individuality for each brand with a selection of swatches that could work across both identities, providing flexibility for social and promotional collateral.

A Quick Style Guide outlined proportions of colour use via colour wheel and corporate font direction for both core collateral and in-house use. Sample social posts feature the visual asset developed specifically for Therapy Pro, embodying feelings of connection and forward movement.

With a web development team working on new site wireframes, we then moved on to design new website skins, providing direction on treatments, placement, image selection - overall ensuring seamless roll out of the new brand styles.

It was a privilege to work on this prestigious corporate piece for the NZ Olympic Committee; a high spec booklet driven by a clear message to inspire national pride given our history of world-class sportsmen and women, and with a Stirling team lined up for 2023 and beyond - in the upcoming Olympic Games and World Championships.

NZ Olympics Committee and Rowing New Zealand hold a strong brand identity however there was scope to design something unique for this booklet given the high level of sponsorship sought to become part of the Rowing New Zealand family.

An honour to work with and support such awesome New Zealanders taking the lead on the world stage.

While our New Zealand athletes were overseas at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games earning a record number of medals earlier this month, it was both an honour and a privilege to work on this prestigious corporate piece for the NZ Olympic Games Committee; launching Rowing New Zealand forward to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and beyond.

Freedom Internet had core guidelines which provided basic brand direction but found this widely open to interpretation across existing corporate documentation.

Client required a corporate template prepared for repeated internal use that was on brand, provided core company content and was flexible enough to work across varied tender requirements, dependant on submission requirements.

Brand direction required around use of colour, graphic style, fonts and choice of images before templates could be designed.

Working closely with the CFO to develop a tender document that ticked all the boxes, this Microsoft Word template was prepared with sample content covering content/section structure, use of level headings, image placement, indications of table styles, colour use and body styles - all set up for easy in-house preparation.

Image library was sourced to compliment tones of freedom, adventure, and youth of spirit, complimentary to brand ethos.

During my time heading up the Yamaha Australia in-house design studio (Melbourne) we produced a massive number of posters, retail in-store campaign material, shop fit-outs, exhibition and outdoor signage. Work shown here was for the Paiste and AV divisions, two of many different product genres under the YMA brand.

RETAIL PRODUCT CATALOGUES.

Product Catalogues require team work, attention to detail and often a lengthy review process.

This A5 booklet was prepared based on the biannual Buyer’s Guide, with a fresh approach to design and careful editing of a finished 156-page document.

Concept artwork, design and print production included in the project.

RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN.

The APS plays a leading role in Australian Indigenous reconciliation. A three year research and review project culminated in this showcase report.

Indigenous artwork sourced and honoured by way of simple colour palette, spacious design and a thoughtful stock selection that met FSC chain requirements for respect to Country.

Text heavy document was lightened by use of quotes throughout, indigenous artwork, and a clean approach to graphs and data.

This RAP Corporate Report was funded by the APS as part of their contribution to a government-driven apology, and vision for the future via partner group Reconciliation Australia.

CORPORATE REPORTS.

Two examples of five different corporate reports prepared for the Department of Human Services for the State Government of Victoria (Australia), presenting statistical and study material that culminated eight years of working groups and committee involvement for change within respective communities.

All projects included: concept development of submissions for state government approval, liaising with photographer, image processing, material collation, overall layout, comprehensive art direction and design of finished documents, final press checks at production stage, engaging stakeholder groups including work group committee, DHS representatives, external copywriters, printers. 

Each report launched via a community event where event promotional material (posters, invitations) were designed/ printed in line with report styling.

Managing corporate design studios for a large part of my career, I have first-hand experience of the internal processes, interdisciplinary teamwork and countless hours that go into collating, designing and producing Corporate Reports.

Whether it be an Annual Report, or a focused Project Report reflecting on a term of legislative achievement, I understand the sensitivity required in bringing the collective ideas of a working group to the table.

Brand sensitivity and succinct visual communication are just two of the essential skills required in producing high quality Corporate Documents.

Material can often be heavy in text and statistics, reflecting the months spent in production. Information should be managed in a way that is digestible, visually engaging, and conveyed with respect to those involved in the study.

Project management of all Corporate Reports may include liaison with Board of Directors, Corporate Communications and/or Workgroup Committees. Full design and production of annual documents includes sourcing reliable print suppliers, thoughtful consideration of stocks and finishes.

Packaging design for new product lines brought to Australia. Working with China to establish product measurements and design packaging solutions to fit components. 

Photo shoots coordinated to create new image libraries of Australian consumers using Yamaha products, when stock imagery unsuitable (sourcing photographer, conceptual preparation, briefing, staging/direction). 

Concept design, press colour checks, print and distribution. 

Product branding extended to product catalogues, in-store point of sale items and website creation/design.

After working on a new range of stationery, craft and giftware in 2019, I attended Paperworld 2020 (Frankfurt, Germany) to showcase my designs to the European Market. Together with my printing partner we launched five collections under the label ‘Raywin Creative’, demonstrating the application of each collection across a diverse range of stationery and craft products.

There is no trade show like the Frankfurt Messe! It was a designer’s dream to have experienced the buzz of international trading, the glow of new product trends and excitement for hot 20-21 forecasts.
